Solid, lightweight, and durable - 10 years later

Want a cheap, reliable knife? Don’t think twice. Buy it. I love this little knife, I don't even remember where I got it from, but I’m pretty positive I didn’t even purchase it myself. It’s almost like this knife found me, it wanted me to wield it. It’s been many years I’ve had it. I’ve sharpened it one time. Great design, made in USA. Something told me Gerber would still sell this knife, I’m not even surprised a decade later. This knife is my edc and I’m not shy using it on literally everything. At work it serves me well; I’m in the fiber internet installing/splicing industry. Overall, the knife sees about medium duty and frequently. There’s no rust, the mechanisms are solid, it doesn’t wiggle at all. There are no screws to get loose, just solid pins. I believe it’s a 3” blade and 4” handle. Which is perfect for a pocket. I’m not sure what it’s made out of, it could be wolverines claw metal for all I know. I’m now in the market for another, since my gf admires mine so much. I’m shopping their site now, figured I’d leave a helpful review for the next person.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great knives

I have owned gerber knives for the past 60 years. On a recent fishing trip I left mine in the boat we were renting. When I got home I immediately went online to find a replacement. These knives are great to have for an every day carry, reasonably priced and as long as you’re not cutting steel, they will hold an edge for any adventure that I decide to take. I still have my Gerber hunting knife from 1971 great knives no complaints

Yes, I recommend this product.

Get a 10 for Orange or Lime!

Have carried the Gerber US1 as my EDC pocket knife for the past two years. I give it a 9.8 score out of 10 simply because Gerber hasn't made the handle in orange or bright green handle so I can easily find it when I'm working in the field. It is very lightweight and slim yet comfortable with the finger notch in my XL sized hands when using it. This dude never cared much for the metal knife clips - the US1 is just the right size and fits into the watch pocket of my work britches. Never cared much The 2.6" blade has a very fine edge and sharpens quickly. Gerber states it's made in the USA - if that's the case, please consider a version with Red, White and Blue handle grips and I'll polka round the barn with the dogs for a week.

Yes, I recommend this product.
