As a trainer using OE tooling, for service and maintenance of my own vehicles, I own a number of scan tools that cost more than twice the price. The GWSMART07 running on the Android platform is extremely quick to connect and has most every function needed for routine diagnostics and service. I also purchased this tool for comparison with others, not expecting too much for the price, but have been pleasantly surprised! it is perfectly-sized for a quick grab and go, meeting most needs. No need for adapters, the Blue Tooth (or cable) VCI allows for direct interface at the DLC CAN FD networks. Size does matter at times and not needing to set up my laptop and VCI, makes this tool very convenient. Updates install fast and graphing is fast. The case is conveniently sized for ease of portability, not having to lug around a huge case. Great build quality and a strong stand with a rugged body are well-designed. Larger tablets are great, especially in the shop at the bench, but this little guy packs a solid punch in a user-friendly package. Since I made my purchase, two other technicians who have taken a look at the GWSMART07 have ordered their own, as an alternate grab for waiting to get their hands on other tools.

I’m Jamaican living in Montreal Canada I purchased my GWSMART07 back in January 2025 as a birthday gift to myself I work in a independent work shop very satisfied going on 5 months now testing its limits love the frequent updates

It’s pointless to own a scan tool if you still have to buy an annual subscription for a individual brands

Bought the tool hoping it would do the things I need it for to help with the fleet I work on. Would not let me see all the data I needed to perform a good diagnostics on the issues instead of throwing parts at a code. Tried numerous time to get in touch with Gear wrench the email address gets kicked back as undeliverable and the phone keeps coming up with a message for system problems and no response on their chat. Returning it to get something better
