[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Right off the bat, this tool is for electrical work. While GEARWRENCH equals automotive tools, this particular one isn't intended for automotive work. Still, torque screwdrivers are an important tool. Properly torqueing down connectors in a panel is very important. Having your connections too loose or too tight is a recipe for problems. Unfortunately, this tool just doesn’t make the grade. It is NOT insulated. Everyone should use insulated tools when doing electrical work, no matter how experienced you are. The build of the handle is solid, but you risk exerting too much torque with it. I’m not sure about the ¼” pass through feature and I would never use a torque tool to break a stuck fastener. Also, the pass through seems like overkill. One can only apply the max of 6 NM which is only slightly under 4.5 ft/lbs… you really have to be careful. Lastly, I wish the torque markings were etched on. Should the paint rub off, it would be very difficult to use the tool.

First off let me tell you that this thing is second to none. Once again GearWrench exceeded my expectations. The truly do a remarkable job on their products. If your looking for the perfect torque screwdriver then look no further! The price is right for the quality and craftsmanship put into this unique torque screwdriver. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve taken my time reviewing this Torque Screwdriver. As Snap-on being my main brand, I just can’t believe the quality of this Gearwrench tool. The feel of it in the hand is actually nicer than the other brand. It is also very precise in the settings. I’m actually turning to the Dark Side of tool brands.

It is nice to be a bit more accurate with the torque on screws and bolts. this little tool may save you the trouble of stripping out screws on A/C units.
