Not for gilded cages.

I knew this would probably be OK, and it was for my project, what I don't get is why they can't even specify a wire gauge in the listing. Is that so hard? Are they worried that you'll try comparing wire gauges with competitors?

Beware of inconsistent wire spacing

I have purchased several rolls of this wire and have been satisfied in the past. However, one or two of the last rolls had inconsistent wire spacing. The spacing was not exactly 1/2 x 1 inch as advertised. If you are stapling this wire to a wood frame, this inconsistency may not cause a problem. However, if you plan to cut the wire into panels and attach panels together with J clips to form rectangular cages, you will have problems. Assembly with J clips requires precise wire spacing. The wires on one or two rolls that I purchased did not align during assembly making use of J clips impossible. Another problem I experienced was a couple of the rolls had defective wire in some places. I plan to look for another source of cage wire.
