It is rare that Fresh Cab doesn’t work, but it does happen. Some of the possible reasons that the product may not be totally effective are:  

Improper use (Pouches to be replaced every 30 – 60 days or when scent diminishes)
Used outdoors (Air exchange rates may decrease effectiveness)
Product gets wet
Not enough product used
The rare case where a rodent is born without a sense of smell
Heavy infestations

Not receiving the results you were expecting is very frustrating and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We would like to share some additional information that has been proven to be helpful for some of our other customers:

It can take up to a week to start seeing full results!
Since the mice do not like the smell, it is not uncommon for them to try and hide or rid the smell at first, so it may take a couple times for them to realize the smell is not going away.

EarthKind recommends utilizing the products without baits and traps. This is recommended since our product repels while baits and traps attract (mice will do anything in their power to get the “prize” used for baiting). Utilizing both at the same time may counteract and provide a mixed signal-- and when push comes to shove, mice will come in for food.

We’re so sorry to hear about your experience — that’s definitely not the result we want for our customers. Fresh Cab® is designed to repel mice with a scent they find unpleasant, so if the pouch was torn apart, it could indicate an existing infestation with food scarcity, causing desperate rodents to investigate anything new in their environment.

We recommend first removing any existing rodents and attractants, cleaning the area, and then placing fresh pouches in clean, dry, and enclosed spaces to prevent new activity. For best results, use one pouch per 8 square feet and replace them every 30 days or when the scent fades.
