Great tool needing maintenance tips

I have used this pole for about two years. It helped me with all the high branches in the yards. But the spring and the chain are visibly rusted that the blade no longer return to the original position. How do I clean them? Or should I replace the chain and spring?

Yes, I recommend this product.

Thanks for reaching out—and we’re glad the pole saw has served you well for those high branches! For the rusted spring and chain, here’s how you can clean and maintain them:\n\nRemove loose rust: Use a wire brush or fine steel wool to gently scrub away surface rust from the spring and chain.\n\nApply rust remover: A rust-dissolving product (like WD-40 Specialist Rust Remover Soak or vinegar for a gentler option) can help break down deeper corrosion. Let it sit per product instructions.\n\nWipe clean & dry: After treating, thoroughly wipe down and dry all parts to prevent further rust.\n\nLubricate: Use a light machine oil or silicone lubricant on the chain and spring to keep them moving freely and protected from moisture.\n\nGoing forward, store the tool in a dry area and apply oil periodically to prevent new rust.

Awesome product

I have used a lot of pole pruners in my life, and I have to say I like the Fiskars pole saw the most I like the double locking and how easy it is to remove and add the saw blade when needed, and the extra long pull rope. I was able to use it on a large oak tree and I had no problems. Thank you Fiskars for thinking of the average hard working person,

Yes, I recommend this product.

Don't recommend tree pole

I've had for a year but only cut small branches and used the saw which worked okay. However, found the product deficient due to so much plastic. It broke when cutting a larger branch, wasn't more than inch, with the lopper. Interesting that a chain drive has plastic. Won't buy again! Part is not available probably due to issues. EXPENSIVE for poor quality

No, I do not recommend this product.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the Chain-drive Extendable Pole Saw & Pruner. We’re sorry to hear that the lopper mechanism didn’t hold up—especially after light use. The tool is designed to handle high branches with control and power, and it should certainly be able to manage branches of that size without failure.
