Carprofen Flavored Tablets are a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) to control joint pain and inflammation caused by osteoarthritis, arthritis, hip dysplasia or surgery. It's also an effective fever reducer. Carprofen is available by prescription only and comes in a flavored tablet form to be administered to your dog orally.How it Works

The mechanism of action of carprofen, like that of other NSAIDs, is believed to be associated with the inhibition of cyclooxygenase activity.

Special Precautions

Keep out of reach of children. Not for human use. Consult a physician in cases of accidental ingestion by humans. For use in dogs only. Do not use in cats. As a class, cyclooxygenase inhibitory NSAIDs may be associated with gastrointestinal, renal and hepatic toxicity.

Side Effects

Carprofen, like other drugs of its class, is not free from adverse reactions. Owners should be advised of the potential for adverse reactions and be informed of the clinical signs associated with drug intolerance. Adverse reactions may include decreased appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, dark or tarry stools, increased water consumption, increased urination, pale gums due to anemia, yellowing of gums, skin or white of the eye due to jaundice, lethargy, incoordination, seizure, or behavioral changes.

Storage

Store at 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F); excursions permitted between 15° and 30° C (59° and 86° F).
