Equiderma Zinc Oxide Paste was inspired by our Skin Lotion, containing the same active ingredients in a thicker, powerful zinc oxide paste form. It's a potent protector in the fight against pastern dermatitis, also known as scratches, greasy heel, dew poisoning, or mud fever. Its UV protecting and drying properties will help you overcome the heartbreak and frustration of scratches.Equiderma Zinc Paste provides a powerful, medicated barrier that cleanses the skin of environmental irritants and seals out the moisture that fuels skin issues. By maintaining a clean, dry environment, it supports the skin's natural ability to recover.

  • Easy. Effective. Essential.
  • Cruelty free and proudly made in the USA. Family owned and operated.
  • For skin issues, we recommend cleansing the area first with Equiderma Neem Shampoo. Once dry, apply a thick layer of Zinc Paste. The Chlorhexidine and Miconazole in the formula will work beneath the barrier to support healthy skin.
  • The thick, emollient base is 100% waterproof. It won't run off in the rain or rub off in the mud, making it the ideal choice for horses in 24/7 turnout.
  • It acts as a 100% physical UV block. Because it is thick and water-resistant, it stays on sensitive pink skin much longer than traditional sunscreens, providing consistent protection throughout the day.

Excellent Go-To Product for Scratches & Sunburn

I’ve tried several products for my gelding’s pastern dermatitis (scratches) and belly raw spots from flies, but this zinc paste is by far the best. It cleared up the irritated areas in under a week and the thick paste stays in place even after hosing off or riding in muddy conditions. The 100% sunblock is a huge bonus for my pink-nosed Appaloosa — no more sunburn flare-ups. Easy to apply, no irritation on sensitive skin, and it has that nice protective barrier that keeps flies away. Highly recommend keeping a jar in every barn!

If your pasture is wet, you need this stuff

Zinc Oxide Paste is the BEST for mud fever. We live in humid, rainy Florida, and for whatever reason, our horses choose to stand in the wettest part of the pasture. They'll occasionally get seeping sores on their heel bulbs (if you push with your finger, you can see a clear/yellow fluid come out), and a day or two of Zinc Paste applications clears it right up. I've also used it for help with summer sores.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Go-to skin support

From sunburns to scratches, this zinc oxide paste is something I never let get completely empty in my tack box. I have most recently started using this on a horse with scratches that other topicals didn't seem to have any effect on despite our best efforts. Within a week of using this product the scratches were dried up and starting to heal. Despite the rainy weather, the paste stayed on during turnout and I haven't had an issue with it coming off on sweaty horses either. I will also put this product on any skin irritations from bug bites and love that it also keeps the bugs away. I have also used this on itchy mane and tails to help prevent rubbing with great success. While I always spot-test any topical I put on my horses, I have found this paste to work even for those with sensitive skin that can't typically handle most topical products. For application I go by the directions on the label, applying a thin layer daily. The paste is thick, but I find that easier to apply than the more liquid topical product and it stays exactly where it is applied.

Yes, I recommend this product.
