The Farnam Blue Lotion Antiseptic Wound Dressing & Gall Lotion is a quick-drying, deep-penetrating antiseptic wound dressing and gall lotion. The horse wound care dressing is effective against bacterial infection most common in skin lesions of horses and dogs and helps fight them to keep your animal healthy. This equine wound care lotion can be used as an aid in the treatment of surface wounds, minor cuts, skin abrasions, harness galls and saddle sores.CAUTION: For external animal use only. In case of deep or puncture wounds or serious burns, consult veterinarian. If redness, irritation or swelling persists or increases, discontinue use and consult veterinarian. Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes. Do not apply to large areas of the body. DO NOT APPLY TO CATS. Not for use on animals intended for food. Note that this product will stain clothing.

  • Horse wound care dressing in a handy 4-ounce dauber bottle is excellent for use on animals skittish about aerosol application
  • Directions: First clean and dry affected area to be treated. Then apply Blue Lotion generously with dauber cap directly onto lesions. Repeat applications daily or more often until healing takes place.
  • Equine wound care aids in the treatment of surface wounds, minor cuts, skin abrasions, harness galls and saddle sores for your horse's comfort
  • Antiseptic, quick-drying, deep-penetrating liquid formula helps prevents reinfection

Great but messy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product works great and applies easily. One downfall is it’s a dark blue/purple and will dye your skin or any clothes it gets on. The dressing wand is a great idea just wish it wasn’t soo messy

Great to have on hand for those prone to injury

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This wound dressing has been great. I have only used it once as I have one dog and a horse and my horse surprisingly has been staying out of trouble. My dog, however, ended up with a raw spot on her neck from scratching so I used this antiseptic on that. It is very runny but it comes with a little cotton ball type applicator to help apply in the desired location. The deep purple color I have seen on my horse products a lot but using it on my dog, the color WILL stain their fur and it will be very purple for weeks. If you can get past having a purple canine, you will love that it takes good care of their injuries keeling dirt out and helping them to heal faster. By the next week, my dogs neck was perfectly healed up. I would absolutely recomend this dressing and am glad to have it on hand for any future scrapes.

Worked as intended

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My senior jack russell has moles on his body that are constantly “outgrowing their blood supply - vet” and are bursting and bleeding. I put some of this ointment on them and they seem to clear up days sooner ! No crazy strong smell, but I will say I don’t like how the lotion does discolor his white fur and I have to be careful he doesn’t rub on stuff and stain in. I can’t wait (well I can because I don’t want an injury) to use this on our horses and cows too!

Good but stains

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great antiseptic, but the cap leaks and stains hands and clothes purple. My girl had a pretty bad gash on her foot and this was perfect for it.
