Q: Why is there a screen in the nozzle of your diesel can? You can only put the pump nozzle about an inch or 2 into the can. It doesn’t allow the sensor on the nozzle to activate and allow the pump to put diesel in the can.

  • A: Here is the reply from the manufacturer: "The only reason you would have any issues with our cans would be if you got water in your fuel, this would affect the fuel not the can. We have no record of a galvanized can affecting your diesel fuel or fuel tanks. We have been putting diesel in our cans for several years."

Great Diesel cans

These are great cans. I have had the metal gas cans for a long time and they still look brand new. Got the diesel cans knowing they'd be the same way. I don't mess with the plastic cans as my Husband, Dad, and Brother's can be rough on things skip the crushed, hole poked, white crease line, slow flow safety funnel plastic cans and invest in some metal ones.

Don't buy

I bought this can for a new Diesel garden tractor only to learn storing diesel in a galvanized metal can is not recommended. Tractor manual says "not recommended to store diesel in galvanized container". Stating diesel fuel can interact with zinc and create zinc flakes that could clog injectors and filters. This can says its galvanized metal.

It's a fuel can. Handle is plastic and doesn't seem as robust as they used to be. Wish it were metal for the price. Doesn't leak, pours.
