Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product for healthy horse-keeping. In the summer heat, especially here in the South, electrolytes are a necessity for a horse's health. I have found this to be a good product for top-dressing feed (it's in powder form and measured with an enclosed scoop) that has simple to follow instructions for any horse owner with any level-of-work horse(s). Since it is added to individual feed portions, rather than mixing in the water supply, you may observe and be assured that each individual horse has received its requirement. My horses have benefited from it and I am a retired veterinarian.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product - Great Price! This product does the trick -this summer has been HOT HOT HOT, and my horse gets an occasional bout of the "drools"! I add it to breakfast feed every morning to make sure that she is getting the electrolytes she needs in this weather.

The table gives percentages not milligrams or grams. Can anyone tell me how to do the math to get to milligrams? My vet said to give 10grams sodium, 25 grams potassium and 40 grams chloride for my 1000 lb horse. I need 2 provide correct ratios.

Asked by: medlark
Each ounce of electrolyte is equal to 28.3 grams. 1 ounce of electrolyte will provide approximately the following levels of the nutrients: Sodium = 6g – 7g Potassium = 4.25g Chloride = 14g

There is not a printed expiration dates on the packaging. There is a lot #. It is a combination of numbers printed on the side of the pail (near the top). Please contact customer service at (888)-376-9601 M-F 8-8 EST. with the lot code to provide the date it was made, and the approximation of shelf life.
