I purchased this knife last Wednesday and by Saturday the belt clip has broken. This knife is a big disappointment, I wish the knife extended an inch or so past the belt clip which would make it easier to remove from my pocket.

This is a wonderful utility knife from Dewalt. It has a convenient clip so it's always at my side when I need it. The clip holds it securely on my pants pocket. It is easy to open and close with just one hand. You just push in the silver button and give it a little bit of a swing and opens and locks in place. To close it you just push in the silver button again and it will swing closed and lock in place. The blade is also easy to change. You just lift the silver tab behind the blade and pull the old one out and slide the new one in. This knife slices through boxes like butter. Overall, it's a great knife to have!

To start, I find the color scheme intuitive; it draws my attention to the only three things on the knife that I need to pay attention to: the blade, blade-release, and pivot lock button. Ergonomics feel good in a bare or gloved hand. There's a good amount of jimping along the back spine of the knife, and it's deep enough and sharp enough to actually be functional. Furthermore, the recessed design on either side of the blade proved helpful when performing precision cuts with a pinch grip. The spring-loaded blade-release is easy enough to pull back but strong enough for a solid lockup. Note that this knife doesn't have a way to change how much of the blade protrudes. Blade changes are quick and easy, but I will say that it took me a few to get the hang of sliding the blade into the slot, it kept getting hung-up at first but that could just be a me problem. I like that the deep-carry pocket clip can be mounted on either end of the handle and that the lanyard hole is generously sized at 0.5" wide. If you are planning on carrying this in a pocket, the clip comes installed on the bottom position, but I'd recommend switching it to the top position because the pivot lock button protrudes from the body of the knife and could be accidentally depressed while leaning or sitting and gravity might allow the knife to swing open, ruining your day and your shorts. For anybody wondering, this model doesn't feature onboard storage for extra blades, which allows it to maintain a slim profile for comfortable pocket carry. The yellow part is plastic but not overmoulded with any rubbery material, which I consider a plus because I don't have to worry about my pockets getting flipped inside-out everytime i pull the knife out.

This new dewalt foldable utility knife is very easy to use , lightweight , and durable. Folds out smoothly and youre able to easily change the blades when needed. The belt clip is great for keeping this tool close at hand.
