DEWALT Garage Storage Starter Kit, 21 pc.

This is just the Dewalt branded version of Craftsman Versatrack since Stanley Black and Decker owns both brands and has been trying to release the same products with slight variations under both brands (for example tstak/versastack) The good: -The rails are much nicer than versatrack since they are black metal instead of white plastic -all the dewalt/Craftsman attachments are interchangeable...so whatever is available under Craftsman is about half the price just with a red sticker instead of yellow. -addition of new attachments such as the drill holders which versatrack doesn't have The bad: -Dewalt version is the same as Craftsman VersaTrack so the attachments slide all over the rail if the rail isn't static -not compatible with dewalt titan shelving units or any storage/tool boxes. While it never said it was compatible, it would have made sense for the garage storage rails to fit the existing garage storage shelves...it is just another example of dewalt not making their own products compatible. Why not make rails and attachments compatible with the existing racks? Or with Toughsystem boxes (like many other brands do)? The only reason i can think of is they want you to buy the "new" dewalt garage shelves/racks which are literally just Craftsman shelves with a dewalt sticker (and a 40% markup...bc the sticker says Dewalt). Honestly it's a decent system but it struck me as shady that they advertise it as a new, innovative product justifying a high price tag when in reality it's just an overpriced craftsman versatrack. And this is coming from a disappointed diehard Dewalt fan. I won't threaten to change brands bc no one cares, I just wanted to let anyone else know that if you want this system, buy the dewalt rails but get the Craftsman attachments. And don't expect it to fit any existing storage boxes, shelves, or racks....unless you have Craftsman racks lol. Work great for static wall mounting or on the "new" dewalt/craftsman garage storage units.
