Q: Will this run a metal nibbler

    1 Answer
    • A: Howdy neighbor! The DEWALT 26-gallon compressor will run a pneumatic metal nibbler, but only in short, intermittent bursts because the tool consumes air faster than the pump's 4.0 SCFM output can continuously replenish. You will need to pause your cutting frequently to let the tank pressure build back up, making it ideal for quick patches but not for long, continuous production work. Because running heavy air tools below their required pressure can stall the tool or damage your metal project, always check your specific nibbler's manual and follow DEWALT's recommended duty cycles to prevent equipment wear.

Q: Can this be used to paint automobiles with low pressure spray guns

    1 Answer
    • AI-generated, Human-approved
A: Yes, this compressor can work for small paint jobs or when using low-demand HVLP spray guns. However, it is not recommended for painting an entire vehicle, as those projects typically require larger compressors with higher CFM capabilities.

Q: Is this ok for painting car

    1 Answer
    • A: Hello, thank you for your question. The DXCMSAC260 can work for small paint jobs or using low‑demand HVLP guns, but it’s not what pros would recommend for painting a whole car. For routine or full‑vehicle jobs, people usually look at larger compressors with higher CFM capability.

Q: Is this ok for grinding

    1 Answer
    • A: Hi Neighbor! This compressor is generally not well-suited for heavy, continuous grinding because its 4.0 SCFM at 90 PSI output is too low for most air-hungry grinding tools, which typically require 6-10 + SCFM.

Q: can you lay it on its side for transport?

    1 Answer
    • A: Hello, thank you for your question. No. You should keep the compressor upright and level during transport. Laying it on its side is not recommended, even though it is oil-free, because internal components could be damaged. Always transport it in an upright position and secure it properly.

    Leaks everywhere

I'll start with the plastic filter housings. They broke off before i could even get it home. My fault for not flipping it the other way around but also cheap design/parts. Glued the housings back together no big deal. I followed the break in procedure in the manual. The first time I filled the tank I discovered multiple leaks including the regulator itself. So now I have to disassemble to tape multiple fittings. I cleaned the regulator and found metal shavings, and passageways not completely drilled out. Upon reassembly the rear plug broke. Now, I am waiting for a parts kit to rebuild a BRAND NEW regulator. This is not what I expected from a product with DeWalt on the front of it. I will fix it and keep it but now I think i am done with Dewalt tools. Is this why all my friends in the trades say buy millwalkee?

Quiet, works ok, need a little more motor

It works ok. It is very quiet which is nice. The motor is barely strong enough to get it going most times. Once it is running, it seems to run well.

    Shouldn't have trusted the name.

Poor assembly at the factory can't put the plastics on right or the stickers on the face correct. I thought DeWALT was good but now I'm second guessing. After running and timing the pump to tank it is way slower than what it claims. Horrible location for the power cord and switch. Way to bulky at the bottom, could have been tucked more. The only upside to the compressor is it's quieter. Spend more on a better brand or just go get a cheaper one that is quiet at a different place.
