Smells like burning plastic when on

Why does this emit a powerful chemical smell when it’s on? It seems to be off-gassing toxic fumes. Makes complete sense. Too much of this appliance is built out of plastic, and the plastic is being overheated when it’s operating. Seems really unhealthy to inhale the fumes it’s producing. I didn’t want a “cheap” air fryer, I wanted a safe and healthy one.

No, I do not recommend this product.

A noticeable odor can sometimes occur during the first few uses as manufacturing residues dissipate, and running the unit empty for a short cycle in a well-ventilated area may help reduce lingering odors. Really happy with this Cuisinart air fryer. The 6-qt basket is roomy enough for a full family meal, and the preset buttons (fries, wings, veggies, frozen snacks) make it super easy to use without guessing times and temps. Food comes out crispy on the outside and juicy inside every time. The window lets you check on progress without opening it, and the toss reminder is a nice touch for even cooking. Cleanup is simple too. Highly recommend!

Great Air fryer!

I bought this unit to replace my previous basket air fryer the stopped working. I chose this one because of its larger size, 5 cook modes and pfas and ptfe free nonstick coating. I’m so glad I did! It works great and is much quieter than my previous one. The food comes out delicious. I love that it has a see through drawer with a light to check the food without opening it. I also find the keep warm mode very useful. I am very happy I went with this Cuisinart model.
