I just bought this and have mowed twice with it...this thing is a beast! My yard is 4 acres and has numerous very steep hills, and a steeply graded pond and creek. When we first moved in, I had a different zero turn. It could not handle my yard at all. Constantly slipping down hills, and even put a zero turn into our pond and creek 3 separate times. I sold that and bought a used Kubota 4x4 garden tractor that worked great for years. It was time for a new mower, so I wanted to see what has come out in the past 10 years. A buddy of mine said that Cub Cadet had a zero turn mower that has front wheel steering like a tractor and was supposed to handle hills well. After some back and forth, I had a dealer come out and test one on the most challenging parts of my yard/hills. It handled really well, so I bought it. Now, after mowing a couple times, I made the right choice! No slipping at all. The ONLY complaint I have is that the safety feature on the seat that turns the blades off when you exit is too sensitive. My yard is also bumpy, so sometimes the slightest bounce or if I adjust my butt on the seat, the blades turn off. Shout out to Eric Emerick at Jacobi Sales in Franklin, IN

In the past 6 yrs I have bought and sold 3 new zero turn mowers. A ZT1-50 and two 54" Toro machines. All were fine mowers but all were anything from annoying to downright dangerous on the hills and slopes of my property. More then once I went on a toboggan ride down a hillside. The slightest dampness meant no mowing. The night before last it rained hard for an hour or so. About 14 hrs later I mowed for the first time with this ZTXS5. Absolute stability during the two hrs of mowing. At no point did I experience any loss of control. At no point did I need the extreme caution my previous mowers required in tough spots. My hilly areas exceed 20 degrees. Other areas slope into a steep drop off or flower beds. Difficult and dangerous before. No problem now. Once you get used to the steering zero turns can be made with little risk of damage to your lawn. You have to turn the wheel fully left or right to get the full effect of this system though. I also find it easier to trim around small objects. Bushes, trees, etc. The ZTXS6 comes with a seat suspension. The 4 and 5 have rigid seats. (They do slide though) The first thing I did was to go online and order an adjustable spring suspension kit. The seat, while quite nice, is a whole world more comfortable with this suspension. The Cub Cadet dealer said they couldn't promise when their suspension would arrive. I went online and had an aftermarket suspension in 2 days. For less money. Extremely well built and very comfortable. The steering takes a bit of getting used to. So does the manual parking brake. Being able to raise the deck and lock it into the travel position without changing the height adjustment is nice. Like all mowers, I find the reverse safety system to be a nuisance. On this machine you can simply put the key in the reverse position, push the orange button so that the red light comes on, and leave it there while you are mowing. I don't have to worry about kids or pets getting behind me. Excellent machine. Typical Cub Cadet construction. Solid and everything important is easily accessible. Mows beautifully and spreads the clippings nicely.

I bought this last month because I was tired of fighting with my other zero turns on the hills on my property. My wheels were always spinning or falling down hill as all these things do without guidance. This one performed awesome and I can say enough of how well it did. I sold my Toro after buying this one and never looking back. Great mower!!

I bought this mower to replace my Toro My-ride mower. I've been frustrated for so long on my yard with the slopes and uneven terrain. Not anymore! I love this new mower! No more tire spin and negotiates my slopes easily. No more falling down hill, it just tracks in a straight line. I cut my yard this morning for the first time with it, with the yard wet and it performed flawlessly. If yo have slopes in your yard, this is the mower that you need. Love it! no more frustration!
