Shouldn't Have to Replace These So Often

These seem to be seriously under-designed as they fail frequently. I've had to replace them more times than I can remember (and you might as well replace the pair while you're doing one). The metal of the cast spider housing is so soft it uses self-tapping screws which gives some indication of how weak it is. If the housing somehow doesn't break, the bearings will fail. I do appreciate that the mounting screws and the blade nut were included the most recent time I bought these (formerly had to order separately). I also appreciate that these are still available for my aging tractor so at least I can avoid buying a new one for now.

Spindle for ride on mower

Part came in a timely manner.Installation was easy.
My only gripe would be that there were no installation instructions and it took me a while to figure out why there were no threads in the spindle mount holes.It comes with self tapping screws so problem solved.
