Needs work to achieve accuracy

The rifle itself is pretty solid. But you need to invest to achieve accuracy. Out of the box, the scope is pretty useless. You also don't just want to shove just any .177 pellet in it. It has a very tight breach. Cheap lead pellets tend to glide in but deform and tend to wildly zing all over the place (you'll be lucky to get a group within 4 inches -- it's that bad). Premium pellets with a decent grain are too snug and you will go supersonic with a loud crack at firing and again have inconsistent results. To make this accurate you need to 1. Chamfer the breach to support premium pellets (use a dremmel and clean the barrel well afterwards). 10.5 grain domed pellets work the best in this rifle -- don't buy cheap soft lead. 2. You need a better scope (there are no iron sights on this rifle). I put a Pinty 3-9X40 Rifle Scope (Additional $60) on mine and it handles the springer recoil well. These 2 modifications gave me groups about the size of a nickel which is what you want if using for pest control. Last thing I'll add is ethical pest control. A .177 cal such as this is good for rat, quail, pigeon control. Yes, you can easily take out squirrels but you need accuracy for head or heartshots and within 15 yards or less. Without that accuracy and range, it lacks the foot-puonds of energy for a body shot kill and they will run off and bleed out in the tree (not ethical or cool). If your going for squirrel, rabbit, groundhog or turkey, you need a .22 cal air rifle. And if your thinking about ethical pest control for bobcat, fox, beaver or coyote, you need a .30 cal air rifle. Overall, it's not a bad rifle (though a little high on the proce) but a good powerful break-barrel for starting out in xsmall pest control or backyard plinking. Hope this review is useful to someone.
