I bought this rifle today and got a chance to shoot it tonight after work. I purchased four different type of pellets as well as the original ones I already had. I tried all of the following pellets through this rifle: Gamo match, Gamo precision point, Crosman Premier, Daisy flat match competition and Daisy serrated match, this gun won't group any of these pellets in a group any smaller than 5" at 25 feet. I even tried switching the scope thinking the very cheap scope that came with the gun was defective but that didn't help either. I read LOTS of reviews that says this rifle is a good shooter, BUT this one is worthless unless you want to shoot the side of a barn at 30 yards. Just an FYI I started shooting and hunting 35+ years ago and have shot a few competitions, so I feel competent that I can sight in a pellet gun. If I was you, I'd look at different models, IMHO. I have had three Gamo pellet rifles so I'm not bias in any way, just trying to leave an honest and fair feedback.

The 177 cal pellet travels faster than a standard 22 cal round, but with a lot less noise. It is very accurate and I was surprised by the distance that the pellet remained accurate. Great for ground squirrels, to keep them from eating my garden,
