decent air gun pretty quite

I bought this rifle to teach my 10-year-old son rifle safety and how to shoot. The rifle is well made and has plenty of power to take down most rodents. However, the rifle is extremely heavy - 22+ lbs. + scope. Three times the weight of myt 30.06. Much to heavy for my son and was even too heavy for me to get off an accurate shot. I exchanged it for a pump model.

Purchased for target practice and rodent control on our farm. The 6 Shot rotating pellet holder seems to bend the end of the pellets when turning the drum to load the next pellet. Some pellets tend to hold, others fall out of the holder when closing the barrel. If this rifle is supposed to be 70% quieter, then I would hate to be around a regular rifle. This rifle is much louder than my CO2 or pump action pistols, making it pretty useless when trying to control rodents, since the noise scares them into their burrows. The rifle is also very heavy, has no sling attachment or rings. The scope is not too bad, but the dove tail mounting is tricky and the scope rings tend to pop off if bumped. Overall, not something I would recommend for varmit or rodent use, but would be ok as a practice target shooter.
