Q&As

1 - 10 of 10 Questions

Q: Will this work in an Ibe mini round baler or is it too thick? Will the oil in it not allow it to be sucked into the chamber. Do you have any twine made for the mini round balers

1 Answer
  • A: I am not familiar with the Ibe mini baler. However, that being said I am certain we can still address their concern. The 16,000 sisal is a direct substitution for any round baler twine. If you are able to ask this customer the twine size they have been using in the past it will allow us to verify that the 16,000 will operate without issue. As far as the treatment on the product, it will not impede the operation of the baler.

Q: What does "fully treated" mean?  I wanted to use the twine with a rope maker and make jump ropes for kids.  Would the treatment be harmful (poisonous) to children if they put their hands in their mouths after playing jump rope?

1 Answer
  • A: This product is treated with Linseed Oil. It is not harmful to cattle. However, is the oil gets on your hands, it can affect your eyes. This product is not approved for making jump ropes. It is only approved for mechanical baling applications.

Round Baler Twine

Great item use it on all our round bales. Do several hundred per year. Like this more than any other product because it is biodegradable and don't have to worry about it hurting the animals. Still can't just leave it on because it might catch ear tags and things.

Hard to use

Use this twine early in the hay season. The thickness varies greatly, so is difficult to use with a round baler. Some spots are nearly as big around as your little finger. It hangs up in the spool, hangs up in the guides, etc. I had to pull a few hundred feet off each spool to just begin to use it, but still had problems at times. Towards the end of both rolls, it also got thin in spots and broke a handful of times. By the last hay I baled, I was having to climb off the tractor for every bale and pull it through or rethread it. Not happy but not sure of other options.

NOT HAPPY

I ordered a twin pack of this baler twine and ONLY received a single roll! My original order was for 2 double rolls of 16,000 baler twine and 3 double rolls of 9000 baler twine! The first order showed all 5 double rolls on there way and delivered to Petoskey, Michigan Tractor Supply. When I went to pick up my order there was only 3 double rolls of 9000 and 1 double roll of 16,00 baler twine. I called the 888 customer service number and voiced my complaint. They said they would send out another double roll package. Well when I got to Tractor Supply in Petoskey, Michigan, it was 1 single roll!
