The Filipino Bolo Sword comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. But the sword that inspired this project came from the private family collection of Guru, Dan Inosanto. It is a style of Bolo sword known as a Talibong and it has a history of opposing many formidable blades like the Kris, Barong, Kampilan and even the Japanese Katana. It was a sword extensively utilized by the brave Filipino soldiers who fought for America in World War II and the Korean War. Currently, there are some 17,000 surviving Filipino Veterans out of the original 260,000 who served. Cold Steel will be donating 10 percent of the profit on this sword to the Filipino Veterans Recognition and Education Project to buy replica Congressional Gold Medals for surviving veterans and their families.

      To honor the Filipino Guerillas and WW2 Veterans

      This is a pre purchase review. Thank you for making this available for the the WW2 Pacific Veterans and their families. Just wish I saw this at the initial release. Hoping it arrives soon. This purchase is to honor my father, a WW2 veteran age 96 who passed peacefully on March 23, 2023. In the beginning of WW2, he left high school in the Philippines and joined the Filipino Guerillas fighting the Japanese. Later during the war, his “Bolo Unit” was battlefield inducted to the United States Army for the remainder of the WW2 (Company B, 121 Inf. USAFIP-NL US Army Forces in Philippines – Northern Luzon).
