- A: Hello, thank you for your question. Per the vendor, "It’s not the engine the determines the starter solenoid, it’s the piece of equipment. The customer would need to reference the model#/IPL of the mower, not engine. If the equipment has a 3 pole the 5409K would work, if the equipment has a 4 pole they would use the 5410K. These are both universal parts made by Briggs & Stratton but the customer needs to verify how many poles their piece of equipment’s ignition system is using. "9 months agoHelpful?
