These berries nourish the local bird community, and in return, the birds distribute seeds to aid in the plant's propagation. Mondo grass is also resistant to deer and salt, making it a great option for coastal areas. They do well in full sun, partial shade, and dappled sunlight, with a moist, but well-draining soil. Plant them in containers, or use them for borders and groundcovers.
