National Plant Network's grower approved selections take the guesswork out of gardening! Brimming with serrated, dark, leathery green leaves, the Acuba Green offers a dash of tropical flair to a lackluster landscape. Don't let its looks fool you though; this cultivar is a super-hardy evergreen that produces bright red berries from fall until the following spring, followed by small, plum-colored flowers that will last until fall. They are deer, disease, drought, dry soil, heat, heavy shade, and insect-resistant. Little pruning is needed, so you can expect the Acuba to be pretty low-maintenance. Provide a well-draining soil and full to part shade for optimal results. Plant in shade gardens, rock gardens, use as a hedge for privacy in shaded areas, or add it to your favorite container!

  • Offer contains (1) Acuba Green in a 3 gallon grower container
  • Mature size 6-10' tall and 4-5' wide; can reach 15' in some conditions
  • Best grown in USDA hardiness zones 7-10
  • Performs best in dappled sunlight, deep shade, and partial shade
  • Produces small, plum colored flowers in the spring, and bright, ornamental red berries from fall to spring
  • Can be used in shade gardens, winter gardens, as a hedge for privacy, in containers, or near foundations around homes or buildings
  • Best suited for a well-draining soil with high organic matter, loamy clay, or sand
  • This plant is considered toxic to humans and pets if ingested
  • This product ships year round, please be mindful of active weather when placing orders to avoid temperature related damage
