The 2019 rating of 650 sq. ft. is a more accurate representation of how the dehumidifier will perform under the cooler temperatures often found in damp areas like basements. The 2012 rating of 4,500 sq. ft. is based on an older, less realistic testing standard that used warmer air, which allows for more moisture removal during the test.
