1 Answer
  • A: Thank you for your question. Product # 118226 will have a roll diameter average around 19.5". The product will vary in diameter depending on machine setup and the way the fence knots stack on top of each other. The product could drop down around 19" and may be as large as 21.5"

Q: if this is a fence with 3in X 3in openings how is it 6 inches across as stated in 1 of the other answers that stated it ended with a 6. I want it for sheep and would want all openings to be no larger than 4X4.

1 Answer
  • A: Hi there, Per the vendor: (100263) which is a 1348-6 has 6” vertical spacings. If they do not want anything over a 4x4 they would probably want to look at a Horseman offering.

Q: what are the spacings from bottom to top? Are all openings 6" wide? because the description is confusing stating "3 in. x 3 in. gradual openings at the bottom of the fixed knot woven wire fence deter small animals"

1 Answer
  • A: Hi! Yes, with the description having a -6 on the end that means that the stay wires are all 6 inches apart. I will provide you with an image for more detail.

Q: Will this fencing follow the contour of the ground like chain link fencing?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi! Per the vendor: Fixed Knot will contour with the ground if the installation is performed correctly. Good strong braces, substantial line posts at the crest of the hill or at the bottom of a sag, secure the high points first then pull down into the sag and secure. Always think of how ridged the product is. The more line wires and the more stay wires, the more ridged the fence, the less flexible the fence will be. 842-12 is a lot more flexible that 2X4 non-climb. Chain link is not ridged at all, so it appears to follow the ground better than it actually does. A little side note. Always hold your Ag fencing off the ground a couple inches. It helps with rusting and sediment from rain and snow. It also helps with terrain contour.

Good fence

Easy to connect each fencing roll, but a little hard to strip ends for termination at the corner posts. I am sure there is a technique better than what I was doing.

Extremley tough fencing

This fence is tough! But is also extremely tough to install! Made from high tension steel it is all but impossible to wrap around your end post and tie off. The Fixed Knot wire tie at the vertical wires makes it strong, but it wore me out trying to get it off the horizontal wires in order to get a tail to tie to the post. Forget your normal fencing pliers - you need a small pair of bolt cutters to cut this wire. All that being said - I'm glad I bought this wire. Once I am done fencing my property - I will never have to do this again in my lifetime!

Yes, I recommend this product.
