Q: What is the Breaking Load for this fencing? I am fencing in goats and sheep but deer keep making holes in my current fencing.

  • A: As stated by the retailer the Sheep and Goat is a great option. However, if you are having problems with wildlife pressure the Solidlock Pro 1348-12 Product # 708487 might be a better option. The line wires are much stronger and the 4 points of contact of the fixed knot will hold up much better than the Sheep and Goat fence. The 12" spacing will allow horned animals to push their heads though and then pull back through to help with horn entrapment. This Solidlock Pro roll is also 660' long which eliminates some of the joining of rolls for longer runs.

economic option - not the best

The spool was wrapped very tightly and was not as thick (even though the same guage) as a more expensive option I bought from Smith Farm Supply (Gaucho). When it was unrolled it pulled in a few spots and opened up some of the holes. Either way I got it pulled tight and it will hold the goats but I will spend the extra .25/linear foot on the good stuff next time.
