The Bad Dawg Groundhog Max ATV/UTV Disc Plow truly makes preparing food plots a one-man job. The ATV plow kit weighs 43 lb. and comes fully assembled for convenience. - A: Hello, thank you for your question. Per the vendor, "No. The GroundHog max requires a re-enforced 2" receiver hitch to operate properly without damaging the ATV. You may be able to buy an aftermarket 2" receiver hitch and get the groundhog max with kit that has all the re-enforcement attachments to make it work but it is not a guarantee that it will work properly that way."a year agoHelpful?
Q: which is best way to get a 2" hitch? A. Buy a 2" receiver from TSC a 12" or 6" and DIY or a welder to mount brace it on your ATV OR B. BUY an after market 2" hitch "online" that specifically fits and re-enforces your machine by it's(year make model).

I have a small piece of land with a few very small food plots. I did a TON of research on disc plows, and I ended up talking with Keith who actually owned the company at one point and actually designed and created the Mad Dawg. He gave some great advice. I shopped around at all the usual places; & TSC was the lowest price.
When I got the disc, setup didn't take long. I followed Keith's advice, and drove the rear tires on a 4x4 and the attached the Bad Dawg. The best advice for me was to not try to be too aggressive with the cut. The disc is adjustable for depth. The vertical post has holes every inch, so when it doubt, go less aggressive on the cut. Then drive it for a bit. My best results were between 5-9 mph and the cut is done best when making circles or swerving type stuff. I did that, and drove for about 20 minutes. I thought it wasn't doing a great job and was actually a little disappointed.
I went back to it on another day and realized a couple of things that seem simple, but somehow I missed it. First off, this has a directionality. I had it backwards (don't judge me, I'm a dork). Once I corrected that, and then went just one hole deeper, and it made a HUGE difference. After setting it up completely, this thing rocks!
I used it for just a little while, breaking up the ground wonderfully to get ready for seeding. I am so impressed with this tool.
