About half the time it only opens half way so the chickens can't get out thus requiring a daily check if it's open. I might as well use my old manual pop door.

Works great until it doesn’t

Worked great until temperatures dropped, then stopped! Freezing temps caused the panel to look “digitized” therefore not opening/closing on schedule. Once warmed up, goes back to working, but displays incorrect time, which makes door not open/close on schedule. Very disappointed.

I like it. I have my door plugged into a wall socked. I don't know much about how the solar option works. I do have the solar panel mounted so it can charge the battery if we lose power. But the battery stays charged since it is always plugged in. It is easy to install and comes with all the hardware you need. The controller is easy to set up. I like it and I am thinking about purchasing another door for the other section of my chicken coop.
