I built a dual gate fence using the maximum 191" dimensions advertised when you buy two of these kits. The 3 row fence is advertised for 5' high or larger with no maximum height listed. First, this is not capable of working with an 8' high fence. It's really 6' maximum height. You will have 1.5' of picket above and below the frame which is going to warp. My first problem I ran into is that the hinge clamps on the square tubing slide up the rail no matter how much you tighten them. I had to drill self tapping screws through the hinges to get them to stay and even then one of them sheared. Third problem is the length of the center support and how it mounts. At the maximum 96" gate length, there is not enough overlap on the ends to be sturdy. There is also only 3 screws at the center. The lengths of the center support should be longer and really should be a clamp on each end or instructions to drill through at the connection point to the 2*4 for rigidity. Third problem is the cable support. I adjusted everything level before adding the pickets. As I added pickets, the gate began to sag. I noticed the cable was pulling through the clamp. I tightened it with a nut driver and it still pulled through. I tightened it a little more and it cracked in half. I added a crimp swedge. I began tightening the turnbuckle and the hook half of the turn buckle straightened and pulled out. I put a bigger turn buckle on it and the S hook on the other end straightened and popped out of the frame. Looking at the size of the turn buckle, it is probably rated for about 60 pounds or less. I ended up replacing all of it with heavier hardware and chain. I am sure this kit works well with a smaller gate but it doesn't work at the maximum advertised size well without lots of modifications. I had to spend about $60 (30 per gate) for turn buckles, chain, and S-hooks to make this kit work for me. I also purchased the down rods in the same brand. I ended up buying different down rods because I really disliked the ones they sell for it. I wanted a down rod on each gate. You can't mount two of their down rods because they go towards each other at the very end of gate frame and will not fit. They also have a very small drop that you can't adjust since the holder is a one piece assy so if I mounted it properly it won't reach the ground. The other brand of downrod I purchased worked great.

The hinges are not strong enough to support the gate. My hands are bending had to go buy some heavy duty hinges.

Bought the gate up to 96 inches and needed almost all of it. The steel framing is solid and hopefully should hold up during the winter when we have 90+ mph winds.
