- A: Series 1240 is not for use with Schedule 40 PVC Pipe. You will need to use our Series T300 - Spa Hose. The outside dimension is designed for that application. Normally stocked in 25 foot lengths, but also available in 100 foot lengths. Q: Can a 1 1/2" PVC pipe be inserted inside this hose and clamped. I am looking something flexible, that will not restrict the flow from my water powered sump pump. Any recommendations ? Thx Max

- A: Series 1240 PVC Suction Hose is not designed for use with over the pipe fittings. 1-1/2" PVC Pipe is only 1-7/8" OD. The hose will not collapse enough to make a leak proof seal when clamped. The only solution since there is no 1-7/8" ID Suction hose is to PVC glue a threaded adapter to the PVC Pipe and adapt up to 2" Male Thread and then screw on a 2" threaded female to it that needs to be attached to the 2" hose. But - be advised that this hose is only designed for temporary sump pump applications. In the long run it will become brittle and may crack as the plasticizers become extracted from the water in the hose. We can only recommend PVC Pipe which has no platicizers in it.8 years agoHelpful?

- A: The approximate MBR ( Minimum Bend Radius) for 2" ID Series 1240 Suction Hose is 9". This hose is affected by temperature, so that number could increase or decrease depending on environment. This is a low cost general purpose water suction and transfer hose. There are more flexible versions containing more plasticizers if flexibility is a requirement.8 years agoHelpful?
