25" Earth Anchor

I purchased Earth Anchor 3"X25". At first I thought I should have purchased the 32" but I'm glad I didn't. I screwed it into the ground about 20 inches before it stopped (I hit a root or rock). With about 5 inches protruding above ground it was easy to anchor to and is easily visible making it less of a tripping hazard. The first one I sank into the ground took a while so on the next one I filed the auger to give it a better cutting edge. It's hard to see in the picture but I hope it improves the drilling time.

Poor design

I have been trying for over an hour to put one 2’ in the ground. Take them off the shelf and go back to the drawing board. The company needs to make a tool you can rent that makes it easier to put these in the ground.

Great things from Tractor Supply, this is no different. These will be for emergency when a tarp needs to be tied down.

Use with extreme caution.

I purchased this earth auger to allow me to a put tension on a rope to take down a Crape Myrtle tree. I had the auger screwed in all the way to the attachment ring. When tension was applied with a come along, the auger shaft bent and lifted, but didn't come out of the ground. The tension on the rope at the top of the tree. apparently was adequate to direct the drop of the tree in the intended direction when it was cut. However, in the future I would purchase something with more thickness and more length to do the same job. I have no confidence that this auger will hold securely and certainly would not recommend it to others, who might put a greater load on it, to the point it pulled out of the ground, which could be catastrophic.
