We had no problem using these tags but after a year or two the numbers faded off completely. When I went back to the store to purchase replacements, I noticed that the numbers on the tags in the package were already starting to fade. Disappointed.

These tags are not good! The buttons that are made to pierce the ear and lock into the tag part bent just before the metal point, even when securely on the applicator. Very flimsy. Out of 10 attempts, I was not able to pierce an ear even once. The only way I was able to use the tags was to remove old ear tags and re-use the existing holes in the ears, and even then I could barely get the buttons to pierce the hole in the ear tag.
No, I do not recommend this product.
