I’m extremely disappointed with the build quality of this thermometer. I stored the unit in a dry place for about 3 months with the batteries inside over the school holidays, assuming the "Off" button actually cut the power but apparently it doesn't. When I went to use it again, the display was extremely faint and showing garbled, weird patterns. I figured the batteries were just low, but even after swapping in brand-new, high-quality batteries, the screen is still unreadable and glitchy. It's ridiculous that a supposedly premium brand like Weber requires you to physically remove batteries every time you aren't grilling for a few weeks just to keep the internal electronics from frying themselves. The power button is essentially useless for long-term storage if it still allows enough parasitic drain to ruin the LCD driver. For the price, this is poor short-sighted build quality. If you don't plan on grilling at least once a month, stay away from this garbage or be prepared to treat it like a fragile science project. Worse than the design of their Weber Smokey Joe Charcoal Kettle BBQs where they don't bother treating any of the screws against rust at all so if you live near the ocean it's a rust bucket in no time.

Had mine for well Over two years. Works every time wouldn’t use anything else

I just bought but can't remove screw to insert battery. My smallest eyeglass screw is still too big. Help!

Terrible- barely worked from day one. Waste of money
