Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great ! Just picked one up Saturday and installed it on a clipper brand 5 foot brush hog it is set perfect for it seeing that the shear point for the grade 2 bolt is about 8,700 in lbs, used it tonight on about 5 acres of heavy grass and multiflora rose slipped just like it should have when I hit heavy mowing no broken shear bolts!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from it works I have one on my rototiller and about to put one on the bush hog, they just need to carry the replacement "clutch disc" for these, no one else is open on Sunday and thats when you need one, when everyone else is closed!!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Specifications The product is described as a 1 1/4" x 1 & 3/8" and after seeing the shaft length described as 1 3/8" I ASSUMED the diameter would be the 1 1/4" (other dimension) - not so. So now I have to pay the shipping to return this thing and look for one that fits a 1 1/4" diameter smooth shaft gear box. Other than that I would assume this to work well for the machinery it is designed for. I just want to protect my tractor from BANG! You should also add a "maybe" to the choices of recommending to a friend. Under the right circumstances, I would recommend it to a friend.

What is the spring torque on these? You are supposed to loosen them annually to slip them, so I need to know where to re-torque them. Thanks.

Asked by: Hoppyhunts
There isn't a torque rating. Instead, it has a height rating of 31mm which is where it needs to be reset at.

Can these be torqued to less than 8000 in/lbs? That's around a 65 hp pto. My PTO is closer to 32 hp, so I need to torque to around 4000 in/lbs. If they can be torqued to 4k, what would the offset measurement be?

Asked by: cnsJohn
These clutches are designed with a torque spec of 8000 in/lbs. It is not designed for any other rating. A clutch is not available for the requested rating.
