My dad always used one of these to drive on and then took it off and put a new one on with another pipe section. It's good to get extra of these because it is just the right diameter to fit inside a 2" rubber hose. A regular inch & a quarter coupling is smaller and will most likely leak. Like all the descriptions on this website, the price tells you that this is the inch & a quarter and the other one is the 2".

If you are going to drive a well point you certainly need more than 1 coupling, But all you ever stock at any store is 1. This is a PIA

Good quality, but be sure to use it correctly!

It would help if TSC stores kept more than 1 or 2 in stock, but after watching many videos and buying a pipe wrench to MAKE SURE I TIGHTEN THIS ALL THE WAY, and re-tightening it every 10-20 times I strike it; has been great.
