It keeps the battery charge but it would be easier to use if the clips were a little larger. The alligator clips are small and make it difficult to clap on to the battery connector.

This 6 volt solar charging unit is perfect for keeping the battery charged on my deer feeder. It mounts easily to the lid of the feeder and works great. The wires attach to the battery inside the door, so I had to make a small notch in the battery compartment and door so that the wires to the solar unit wouldn't get crimped when the compartment is closed. I recommend this product.
