Setup was simple right out of the box (which would've fit in my SUV), all that was needed was a couple 1/2 inch wrenches. Oil was included and the machine started on the first pull. Tiller performed exceptionally well in the garden...handle is adjustable to height of operator and is a bit longer than my last tiller which seems to give better leverage, the machine is very well balanced and handling was fairly easy for a front tined tiller.

terrible quality

Loved this tiller tiller it decided to explode the chain case on my while using it. Had it just a little bit over a year and then this happens. Not sure I would recommend this product to anyone at all. I had to weld the handles on better due to poor craftsmanship on Troy-bilt part. Had to get rid of the some of the bolts that comes on it and replace it with stronger bolts due to the inability to use quality parts.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Troy-Bilt Is A Decent Build

Welds on handlebar assembly could be better by welding fully around the tubes, and tines' shield bends easily. Other than those flimsy aspects, it operates and does very well. It will bog down in well-tilled or soft soil, but it shreds bad turf, overgrown beds, root systems, vines, even some smaller aging stumps! The tines won't break, and the engine starts and runs very well, a beast. I was going to rent one, but I just bought it instead, because I would have been halfway there with rental fees anyways. Now I have a great tiller for future gardens and replacing badly damaged grass areas.
