Q: Can the shelves be reversed so the edges face up? I don't want things to slide off.

A: In the assembly manual, it does look like it could be possible to assemble the product this way - However, the manual also states "Do NOT modify the product in any way. Unauthorized modification may impair the function and / or safety of the product, and may affect the life of the product.
