The worst

The tractor supply brand of lump charcoal is terrible. Either it’s been packaged this way or the bags have been tossed around. I bought 5 bags at the end of last season to use in my Big Green egg. 50% of the contents are fine pieces that falls thru my charcoal grid. I have to us two bags to get enough lumps to fill up my fire ring. I’m curious to know if all limp charcoal is the same, which would indicate rough handling. There are better places to buy lump charcoal. Btw I had to dump my charcoal basket out and clean out the firebox from the powdered charcoal. Look elsewhere!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Ideal for a regular home smoke.

Great value for a bargain price. Do note that the lumps come in chunks, bits, dust and sticks. Have smoked numerous meats and all had good flavor, along with a deep colored ring. It burned fairly well, though not always consistent with the heat.
