Q: Could these be used as fly boots? I realize that’s not what they are made for, but I have not been able to find a long lasting pair of fly boots for my horse.
2 years ago1 Answer
- A: Hi there, Per the vendor: We do not recommend sport boots to be worn for long periods of time. Even when competing we recommend removing boots in between classes if possible to allow maximum airflow and a faster cooling process. Although these sport boots are made with perforation to allow extra air to circulate, any boot that is not mesh, such as a fly boot, can hold heat if left on for extended periods.2 years agoHelpful?

Great quality for the price

Bought these for my 16’3 OTTB to add some extra support for him while healing a soft tissue injury.
PROS:
-Adds a sufficient amount of support
-Very strong velcro that holds in place and is still easy enough for me to put on and off
-Affordable
-Great color options (I wanted something in my horses signature color-royale blue)
CONS:
-Can pick up dirt and other things easily (as most things do)
-With a horse on the taller end of the measurements, not perfect sizing-but sufficient. Just make sure you read the measurements before purchasing.
TIPS:
-Make sure that your horses legs are completely brushed before putting on as it picks up dirt and other things easily (they come with washing instructions too so it’s fine if they get dirty)
-They come with the front legs boots wrapped inside of the hind legs boots, which creates a sort of crease so when it comes to storing them, I personally don’t like to store them that way because the crease is annoying.
Overall I like these a lot, they’re perfect for my horse at the moment!
Yes, I recommend this product.
