This will split seasoned hickory!

I bought this today, and decided to try it on the toughest-to-split wood I have- some Shagbark Hickory that was seasoned on the stump. Unlike standard wedges, this wedge starts easily in the wood, and once started stays upright and doesn't fly out when hit. It takes a few full swings with a heavy sledge, but on about the third hit the log just explodes. The Safety Yellow finish makes it really easy to see when dropped.

It will do great in soft wood , hard wood it bounces out so not worth the time and effort . A traditional wedge does a great job. Pretty much a disappointment with this product

Junk. Broke before any split log

Tip broke off after 5 minutes of use, didn't even split one log. Worst part, the log already was splitting with my axe head in there.
