Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely satisfied Exactly what i needed. The employee that assisted me was knowledgeable and helped me every step of the way. I didnt know what size i needed and he helped me decide to go with a larger tank ( less times back to refill) there nothing worse that stopping half way through a job to get more shielding gas.

What are dimensions of this cylinder? Specifically it's overall height with and without the cap.

Asked by: Sanity
The cylinders we purchase are 80 cf, HT 32", diameter 6.6", and weight 53 lbs. There are other types that may vary from this size, but this is what we purchase. Since we are a customer owned cylinder exchange business, there may be other tanks in our fleet across the country, we classify size by cf. So if someone had a 80 cf cylinder that was shorter or taller than what we typically purchase, it would still be a #3 since it is 80cf.

When you buy a cylinder does it come full or do you have to pay to fill it?

Asked by: Charlie penn
This part number is for the cylinder only. You can exchange your customer owned cylinder for a full cylinder at the store for $44.99. If you do not have a customer owned cylinder to exchange, you would need to purchase this cylinder ($299.99) and the content (gas) inside of the cylinder for $44.99. Total price would be $344.98 plus tax.

I recently purchased a tank from a welding company I was wondering if I could get it filled or exchanged through tractor supply?

Asked by: Timsmis
If it is a customer owned tank, size #3 (80cf.), yes, it is acceptable for exchange. The only customer owned tanks that must be Thoroughbred Blue for exchange are size #4 ACE (145cf), and high pressure tanks 240 cf or larger.

Does the #3 tank work well with a Mig welder cart?

Asked by: Harry10
I am not sure which mig welding cart you are referring to, but if you are talking about the Hobart Arc Welding cart with cylinder rack (SKU 385144299), then yes, this cylinder would work with that cart. The cylinder in question is 6.6" in diameter, and weighs 53 lbs.
