Side Effects

• Swelling of the face, tongue, or lips
• Difficulty breathing

• Excess urination
• Coughing up blood
• Vomit that looks like coffee grounds
• Restlessness
• Severe vomiting
• Mild to severe nausea
• Seizures
• Dizziness
• Headache
• Insomnia
• Weight loss
• Loss of appetite
• Less serious side effects

• Theophylline should be given on an empty stomach at least an hour or two before eating.
• Very old or very young animals may metabolize Theophylline more slowly than intended.
