Q: the sizes for this go by inches. What inches do I measure? The length. the girth? I guess I need more verification. My dog is 80 plus pounds. girth is 31-32. Length is 25-26. I just need to know what inches you mean?

Q: I do not see a side view. I need to know an elbow to elbow measurement because some dogs fit like a slender Whippet and some dogs fit like a chunky Pit or Aust. Cattledog.

- A: Elbow to elbow is the "width" of the coat material. Measure from one elbow across the shoulder top to the other elbow. Depending upon the breed width and shoulder / upper arm angles, the measurement can vary. It needs to go down far enough on the sides to cover and not have a "cut" in the flank area. A Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen would be about the female size in most Dalmatians, but a male Dalmatian close to 24 inches at the withers and 65 lbs, or say a Labrador hitting 90 lbs., or the Mastiff at 200 lbs., the coat may be short on the sides. Terriers vary widely, too. There are American Staffordshire Terriers, Welsh Terriers, Rat Terriers and everything in between. I suggest a marketing photos showing the sides. Thanks! - A: Measure from the base of the neck down the back to the base of the tail. This does not include the collar of a jacket if it has one - it is not a necessary measurement for proper sizing. Hope this helps...................5 years agoHelpful?

Sizing Runs Small

After measuring my dogs several times to be sure, I ordered these jackets for my dogs. Both are too small. I will need to return them for the correct sizes now that I know how the sizing runs in these dog jackets.

Stylish jacket for my little Italian Bichon. Warm and super easy to put on. Just wish it were a little longer in the back. The size 14 fits well. I think the size 15 would have been perfect but the next size up is 16 and that would have been too big.
