Price point is its saving grace

You get what you pay for. This is a relatively inexpensive Plate Compactor so at its price-point it's a good value. Customer Support has been teriffic. The machine compacts soil (dirt and small rocks) pretty good. My machine arrived with the fuel hose unattached to the tank so fuel was spilled onto the ground. It also had a bent axle (for the transport wheels) caused during shipping. The engine starts on the first or second pull. However, my engine has a governor that sticks in the wide open position and I have to manually pull on the governor arm to get the engine to idle. Customer Support and Tech Support are working with me on this issue and they have sent a replacement axle. Another thing to note is the Air Filter. It is a special size and shape. There is a small foam pre-filter followed by a small pleated air filter. In the dusty environment of compacting soil, the filter gets clogged very quickly (Like in less than 1 hour of use.) The filter is only available from one source (GCM Outlet) at a cost of $20 USD each (as of May 2025). This is a follow-up review to my initial review.
