I was happy to see this product offered because I was looking for something to cover our modern pergola that was opaque and easy to install. We were going to use the metal roofing but chose these panels for the ease of installation and cost. Polycarbonate panels have been around for years, but they’re usually transparent or translucent, and I was concerned about the debris that falls from the trees. There’s always something falling from the trees above such as the leaves, the helicopters, or the buds from spring. Our pergola has black powder coated steel connectors and the wood is stained a brown/black. The house is light grey vinyl siding. The grey panels go very well with these colors. And now we have reprieve from the elements, unlike our sail shade which did offer shade but wasn’t waterproof and had to be removed and replaced each season here in the NE. I would recommend this product if your needs are similar to ours.

I have used these for a porch roof extension, a shed roof and a chicken coop roof. The quality is excellent and they are easy to work. I have found that the best way to cut them is with an oscillating multi-tool with a round blade. It will slice through them like butter with no damage to the cut edge.
