- A: Per the manual: "Only insert as much material as needed to prevent blockage of the feeding funnel. Chop garden waste that has been stored for a few days and is wilted and damp alternately with dry branches. This prevents the cutting blades from blocking up. Branches with leaves must be completely chopped before new material is fed. Make sure that the chopped material can fall freely from the ejection slot."3 years agoHelpful?
Q: Can you wash it out with water every use? And is it ok to chip fish heads and fish bones?

- A: This chipper would not need to be washed out after every use. Powerful little machine!

I enjoy my Sun Joe Electric Wood Chipper - 1.5 inch for taking trimmed branches and making them into usable mulch. This machine was a good value, fitting non-straight branches and offshoots well. Highly recommend it for a moderately quiet, powerful little machine!

Great homeowner chipper!

This is a great little chipper! You do feel safe when operating it. I wish it had a little bit broader mouth or funnel. You do need to have pretty straight branches with most of the side branches cut off. But overall it is still a pretty handy machine to have. I would recommend this chipper to others.

Great for small stuff

This product was super quick and easy to assemble. I used it to take care of some stuff in our backyard. It is simple to use and in my opinion very safe due to the restrictive holes for placing your brush. It did not do real well with bendable viney type brush but everything else it just ate up.

Does the job!

We have a lot of small trees along me and my neighbors property. The Sun Joe chipper is perfect for those types of smaller jobs as it caters to smaller branches. Our garbage company only picks up once a week now and if it’s not in a bag they won’t touch it, so we chip it up but mostly use it for mulch! Handy to! Works well!
