Note: This tank must be securely mounted to the pickup bed. Do not cut or weld on this tank under any circumstances. Do not pressurize this tank over 8 PSIG. Do not lift this tank with hoisting loops with liquid in the tank. This tank is to be used only as a transfer tank and solely for private use. It must not, under any circumstances, be connected to the vehicle's existing fuel systems as an auxiliary fuel tank. You must use a fuel filter in your pump system. You must use an automatic shut-off nozzle. Remove the pre-vent cap slowly with caution since 2.5 PSI of pressure can accumulate in this tank. Tanks meet D.O.T. requirements for combustible liquids such as fuel oil. They are not designed for flammable liquids such as gasoline. Usage of tanks is regulated by State and sometimes local ordinances. Contact your local fire chief or fire marshal to determine your local restrictions.

Delta Steel Transfer Tank, 37 gal. is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not 19" height This tank is 21 1/2" height to top of lifting rings, not 19" as stated in the question section of this. I needed a total height of 19" and went to get it, would not fit. I could cut the lifting rings off but the fill/vent is still 21 1/2 so no need.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Little to wide Though this should get 5 it gets 4 only due to it not being universal. The tank works great and has no functional issues. Other then the item pictured has only one opening. It has two one for a pump. The only issue with that is it does not come with a plug so I had to find one.(2" NPT male plug) I have a 6 1/2 ft bed on my super duty and this causes the tank to set on the radius of the truck bed. I used 2x8s for now but I will need to get plastic pieces made to not hold moisture. The 8 ft beds might not have this issue just a heads up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Tank Tank is built well with thick steel plate, nice welds, and heavy cast bungs with clean threads. Made in USA is a big bonus. Mounted easily in my long bed Silverado. Works perfect with my Fill-Rite pump to transfer diesel to my tractor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Owned for 10 years The Good: I bought this transfer tank to make an auxiliary tank for my truck. It holds almost 40 gal if filled to the top, but is labeled for 36 gal to allow air space for expansion without spilling. I drilled a hole in the lower side, welded on a pipe nipple, plumbed in a 1/4 turn valve, and gravity feed to the main tank. The expansion space in the trucks main tank is sufficient for both tanks. This gave me the full extra 40 gal. I also liked that the top of the tank is flush with the bed rails in height and doesn't block my view out of the back window when hitching my 5th wheel. It worked great for 10 years. The Bad: The tank being steel will eventually rust, as mine did, but it's a 'cheaper than aluminum' solution that will last for several years. The gasket on the vented cap swelled and fell apart quickly; I replaced it with a new one and it did the same. I tried making a gasket out of Viton but it didn't last either. I eventually threw the vented cap and adapter away and bought two 2" pipe plug for both top holes. I fabri-cobbled a vent and baffle in one of the plugs and it resolved the leaky cap problem.

Are the threaded inlet holes the same size as I really want to be able to have the filler hole on the opposite side than what is pictured in the product photo. I know I could just turn the tank around but it is already mounted and no more holes in the bed

Asked by: mnamzloh50
Both sides are 2” NPT. Our tanks have either 1 or 2 baffles inside depending on the size of the tank.

What is the absolute highest dimension from the bottom of the tank to the top of the highest point......which I'm guessing is the top of the fuel CAP? I'm trying to figure if the tank will fit under my tonneau top. What defines the 19" spec?

Asked by: Tank height
The 19 in is for the total height of the tank, including the fuel cap.

What is the particular reason this tank can't be used for gasoline?

Asked by: DesertRunner
Hi DesertRunner, these tanks are designed for combustible fuels and not flammable fuels. There are many regulations regarding transportation and storage of flammable fuels so we design our tanks for combustible only.
